6-8 & 6-12
On Monday, John and Donna had a trip booked on "Pete". The have been out with me many times in the past few years. The winds were out of the SE at around 10 mph to start the morning, so it was a little bumpy towards the south end. We soaked dead rods and jigged before we moved to the northeast side to get on some calmer water. We used live bait again for a short time, then switched to trolling cranks along the channel edges. We finished with 4 "keepers", a bunch of "shorties", and white bass.
Today Jeff and Mary joined me on "The Rock. With all the heavy rains that came through on Tuesday and Wednesday the water temperature dropped back into the mid-upper 60's. All the gates were, and currently open and running at 20,000 cfs. We started the morning on the main lake with jigs and dead rods on channel edges and the current flow through the lake was so strong that we could not keep the lines vertical even with 3/8 ounce weights in 17 fow. We moved to the west side out from Shipwreck and trolled #7 Shad Raps, Flicker Shads, and Salmos, and finished at 10 am with three "keepers", and bunch of "shorties, and white bass, along with 4 perch, 1 Flat Head, and 1 big channel cat.
Keep a tight line!!!
Jerry
