Ty, I was in a bait shop this weekend and was told about the bluegill post spawn. Supposedly, right after their spawn they head out to a little deeper water(about 10"). This is when I'm told Musky, bass, and pike hammer the gills before they school up and head off to even deeper water. "Best muskie bite of the year". Is this something you look for or have experienced?

I'm guessing someone at the bait shop found you to be very gullible. Or, someone at the bait shop thought they knew more than they did.
Keep things a little more simple and you'll be just fine. Fish good structure with good baits and you will catch muskies not because the bluegill are going deep but because you are in the right spot with good lures. Muskie fishing is only as complex as you want it to be.

I was up for the weekend of the fourth and I noticed there was a bumper crop of frogs in the west fork. I'm going to buy a bunch of weedless rubber frogs and cast them all up and down the river ...
