My wife and I went wading in the river near our house this evening with good results. Eight bass, with a 19" heavyweight as the best. (She caught the big one). We used spinning gear, 10# test, 2# diameter Spiderwire line, and Tiny Torpedo surface lures as well as #9 Floating Rapala baits. The torpedos are a "stubby cigar" shaped bait with a tail propeller. This is on the "no live bait" section of the river and the fish were holding in about 18" of water. Most were jumpers. We are lucky to be able to do this regularly. Conditions favored a surface bite with overcast skies and a very light rain.
