Saturday's trip was called off due to bad weather, but Sunday's went as planned and the action was once again very slow. Using Reeves weedless jigs tipped with either a half crawler or 3" Berkley Gulp, my 2 clients and I worked all types of depths and structures during the day and all we could come up with were 3 keeper eyes along with 1 pike and 1 smallie. What few fish we did get, came out of the coontail except for the largest eye which came out of 3 feet of water over rocks and a smaller eye that came out of a crib. Being that the fishing action was slow, we did spend a good amount of time vertical jigging several cribs and we managed to pull 17 pretty nice gills from them.
Back out today, will keep you posted.
