JAW BREAKER

We tried for salmon close to home on Friday night, since the forecasters were wrong again (8-12 mph SE winds). It was more like 20 mph S winds! Boat control was tuff, but we managed one 2 lb king on a flasher/fly combo (green) ~ 120 feet back. No other hits on the lead, riggers, or other dipsie. Hopefully, the fishing will get better, but it's looked pretty grim. I sure wish the local DNR or Great Lakes Fishing Club would plant more kings, browns, and stealhead right off Escanaba so we could have better oportunities to catch fish. It's too costly to keep runing over to Cedar River or Fairport to catch fish.
