I have been fishing a lot of walleye again this week. The bite remains good but the fish are very slow, you have to drag the jig or hold the bait very still right in front of there noses. I have still been finding the fish on the rock structures in the main lake during the day and along the weed line in the bay during the evening fish. Yesterday I did some bottom bouncing and found that I could cover more ground and pick up the more active fish, but the size of the fish remained about the same as with the jigs.
Bob Mehsikomer was in camp over the last week doing a musky show for Witch Bay. He caught his 99th musky over 50 inches. We were hoping he would get number 100 but had some motor problems on his last day. But congrats to Bob on his milestone. I am sure all you musky people know that this is not something easily obtained.
Russ is in camp this week and has been having some success with the muskys himself. I will get him post a note about what he has been doing.
