The past two days walleye action were totally different. On Monday, my client and I started out working an 8 foot deep hard bottom shelf with Reeves weedless jigs tipped with a half crawler and had very good success, that is to start with. During the first hour, we caught 3 very nice eyes along with 1 big gill and had many hits and misses. After that action stopped there, we tried several other places on our half day trip and all we could find were a few small pike and a smallie. Tuesday's action was much better as the winds swung around to the NW and had the eyes on a much better bite. Taking both crawlers and fatheads along, my 2 clients and I found equal action on both as we caught 3 eyes and a smallie on our first stop, and that was in 3 feet of water over hard bottom. Moving on to work shoreline coontail, we found another 3 keeper eyes along with a coupkle of small pike. Our next and last eye was caught in 6 feet of water over scattered rocks.
Next trip is on Thursday, will keep you posted.
