Got out Saturday night for about 5 hours. Water temps were running about 77. Boat traffic was moderate but not really that bad and really started to disappear around 7 PM. Guess the storms from the morning kept most away. Raised a nice mid sized muskie around 7:50; boated a 33" around 8:12 and lost another aorund 8:40. All fish came from the no wake zone on Catherine and all three were on the same Super Stalker.
MOON RISE 9:01 PM.
With respect to the water temps; YES they are stating to get to that critical 80 degree mark and great care must be in veryone's mind on the safe release of fish. If you are able to motor into the shallows, that would be the best scenario to release the fish.(weeds and oxygen). Might be a good thing to just leave the fish in the net over the side of your boat for awhile. They will start to push their nose to the net when they are wanting to go Thermocline on the Fox Chain ususally will be in the 12-14' range. With the weather forecasted for this week, I would expect the temps to be well above the 80 degree mark next weekend.
