Monday's action started out slow but ended with a bang. Doing just a half day trip, my client and I found no action at all on our first two stops, one by a bog and the other in the shallow wind blown boulders. Our third spot was also our last stop. Anchoring on a 6 to 10 foot breakline going from hard to soft bottom, we found both walleye and smallies. Using Reeves weedless jigs tipped with either a half crawler or fathead, we were on fish right from the start. My client who stuck strictly to the crawlers and was vertical jigging just off the bottom, boated 7 very nice smallies with 2 of them over 18 inches along with 1 keeper eye. I, on the other hand was tossing fatheads and boated 4 eyes ( 3 keepers ) along with 3 smallies, 1 throw back and 2 between 18 and 19 inches.
