Soupy River Blues, Again!

After last night's incredible storm, the river South of Warren is unfishable with the north end still pretty clear but too high for an effective musky plan.

I did o.k. with a 35" right before the storm hit around 7 pm. Right after the first wave went by I went back out and lost another. Both fish hit topwaters in the muddy water and I was fishing slack areas.
Next morning The river was higher and I stuck to the same top water pattern and got a 37" right away (7 am) but didn't see another fish the rest of the day.

That goes to show you......can't catch them from home.

Normally someone on the water somewhere puts something together and catches some fish.

It really pays off knowing the water well during these times. You really have to be willing to fish the "not so great times" to learn. It's too easy to bag it and blame it on the conditions. I know when I can't put something together it makes me try even harder.
