Yesterday I had the pleasure of having three generations of the Otten family on board. They arrived from the Milwaukee area around 2 p.m. and we loaded up and headed out. I always look forward to fishing with Henry, Gene and Nick, we always seem to have a great time whether the fish bite or not. Well...we were fortunate and the fish were biting for us. We started out at the north end trolling Walleyes Choice (http://www.walleyeschoice.com) harnesses. We were fishing over the tops of some weeds in 7 to 12 feet of water and the fish were biting as soon as we got out. After losing the first three fish I thought we were going to be jinxed, but we finally started getting some all the way to the boat. I-62, C-5, and I-76 caught the most fish. We did this for a few hours and then it was time to head a little farther south to get ready to troll crankbaits in the evening. We had a great south/southeast wind giving us a good chop and it seemed to have the fish biting too. We could have stayed out and caught fish all night I think, but we knew today would be another long day on the water so we headed in to get some shut-eye. We also caught the biggest sheepshead I've ever seen in my life, unfortunately we didn't get a picture of it, but it was easily pushing the 15 lb. mark. I know that sounds big...but I've caught a 12 lber before and this one dwarfed that one. Here's some pictures of yesterdays trip (minus Nick, he went to take a hot shower), good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
