Saturday's bright sky's and little breeze if any kept the walleye bite on the slow side, but the big gills were on a decent bite and they made the day. Starting out vertical jigging the cribs with 1/16th ounce Reeves weedless jigs tipped with a small piece of crawler, my client and I found 17 big gills and 1 hefty crappie after working 4 different cribs. Moving on to fish for walleye, we found very little action as there was not a breeze at times, and it was also a little uncomfortable out there as the reflection off the water from the sun got a little warm. We did however find 4 decent eyes as we worked water 7 to 13 feet deep with scattered laid down timber and stumps, all on fatheads.
