Summer is finally here just in time for fall...enough said on that. Today I guided John and Doug from Canada eh. It was a tough day for rookies to musky hunt but a very educational day and a success. Started off the morning with bait-casting lessons. John only being eleven caught on pretty quick and did a great job. Unfortunately Doug got almost all the action. First he had a mid 40's come in pretty good on a jerkbait. He did the classic stop and stare on his first big follow. His next follow was a small musky but this time he did much better on the 8 and a few casts later he had another mid to high 40's come in hot. This one he did a good job on the 8 and I think almost got her to snap. Finished the day off with one nice pike and action from some smaller ones.
Water temps are now in 68-70 range. Walleye action for my dad and his clients has been good for a solid week now. Today they released a couple of 20+'s for sure in the morning and have not heard the evening report yet.
