Fishing Friends, I can report that we had about two weeks of low productivity in the western basin for Walleye. September is a different story and the catch rate has been very good on Charters. Nice size larger Walleye are being caught abundantly and the customers are very happy. We have been trolling most all days and using the Yeck spoons in Helmet, Raspberry with pink dots and the purple Demon. Also Rapalla F7 in Chartreuse and yellow. Were running # 40 Jets 85 ft and 95 ft in 30 ft of water. The current Hot spots Green Island area and N.E. of Niagara Reef. Perch Hot spots have been N. of B can and N.E. of West Sister in 31 ft. and N of the Toledo Water Intake. Smaller Perch are reported but as the temperatures drop the size should go up. Drift fishing for Walleye has been on or off the deeper reefs if there is no boat traffic. North to the Canadian line but should start moving into shallow waters later this month. Don't give up on Walleye there out their now you just have to find the schools. They start to move back into the Western Basin to feed and their preparation for the fall feeding frenzy to fatten up for the spring spawn. We have dates available for Charter Fishing please give us a call at 888-811-8077 for your favorite dates. Capt. Ron
