Definately a lake run. If it doesn't have the red spots, and little black circle on the gill plate then it is a lake run

The biggest brown I have ever caught came out of Elk Creek and was a nice 13lbs.

The PA Fish and Boat commission has begun stocking a new variety of brown into the Erie tribs to provide an expanded fisherie. They way I heard it is that people were missing the salmon run.

They don't distinguish between the two types for the world record though.

The previous record was caught in an outflow in Arkansas.

The guy holding the fish in the picture I posted was the buddy of the guy who caught it.

If that 41lb.weight holds up, it will be a World Record.....right?? (Maybe the record has to be broken by a full pound to count.)

The current record from AK is 40lb. 3oz, if I remember correctly.

40 lbs 4 oz...and this fish was certified at 41lb 7oz.

So it should qualify.

So it's not a natural fish...it's a triploid...does that make a difference?

They could do the same thing with musky..imagine a triploid musky that weighed in at 90lbs...outside of the fact it would be INCREDIBLE to catch the thing...if it were to happen would you support it being a new world record?

After digesting the article, I would have to allow the triploid record musky to stand IF other fish have been inducted to the record books with the same 'non-natural' chromosome numbers.

I am assuming the IFGA had their hands tied since they have allowed other 'genetically engineered' fish into the record books.
