Lake Delavan, Sunny, Air 61-80, Water 71, Winds N.E.5-10.
We started our four hour game fish trip this morning at 6:30 P.M with a pretty thick fog bank over the lake. The first stop produced right off as we connected with four northern pike in less than a half hour. The largest was 34 inches all caught on medium sucker. The second stop produced well for us with three more northern pike and a couple of keeper largemouth bass caught and released on suckers and crawlers.
By the time we made our third stop at 9:30 the sun was starting to get high and the catching slowed a bite with more game fish caught just at a slower pace. The final reading off my tally sheet shows (9) northern pike
(7) largemouth bass (1) smallmouth bass (1)walleye (12+) bluegills. Again the fish were caught on everything we threw at them crawlers/leeches/medium suckers. The best depth this morning was 13' -18' FOW.
