With water temps finally taking a dip there has been some great action on the Cave, Muskies have really had the feed bag on for the past several days. My boat has taken 7 muskies over 40 inches including a nice 51.5 taken by my client, we also boated 46.5, 46, 45, 44, 42, 40 in the past few days. The muskies have been very shallow and as normal for this time of year taken on bladed baits and top waters. Water temps range from 68 to 73, and falling with this cold nights over the past 3 days. Mountain Muskie Lodge guide Lance Seasor boated a fat 49.5 this week as well. Darly Seasor's clients boated 4 over forty and Lodge guest fishing on there own this week boated a 47 and 44 on bucktails as well as a couple of mid thirties. So you can see just how good the FIRST COOL DOWN has been. Fish the shallow weeds and don't be afraid to camp on the good spots. They have been pulling the water rabidly but it doesn't seem to be effecting the fish.
