I noticed last weekend while fishing down by Cedar River that they have really set the whitefish nets close to the reefs... even up onto the reefs. Is there any restrictions on where they can set those nets, or how many nets they can put out there? It was a little frustrating to not be able to get to some spots!!

Restrictions? Rules? Nah, they don't need that, they self regulate.

mbrown,
You've got me really nervous about where these nets are especially those that are blocking "some spots". Got the GPS coordinates for the spots, oops I mean nets?

Several years ago I got to close to one of those nets and lost a crankbait, sure hope nobody got it in their hand when they pulled the net. LOL

pretty sure those are legal(white man) nets set by commercal fishers, so I'm sure there are regulations and they are pretty well monitored by the DNR.
