We began the day with 15 boats fishing for points as well as a $500 payout for 1st place. The weather had played a significant role in this tourney as it seems to here in the great Midwest. The boats headed out at 6:45 am and it was a chilly start. Temps ringing in around 30 degrees. We had 5 boats fishing for points to stay in the running for Angler of the Year as well as 11 boats fishing for the Canada Trip sponsored by Anglers Kingdom which will be given away to the Highest Points team that signed up for the Early Bird Special (all entries paid in full).
As the day continued on many reports of fish being caught was recorded, but it was not reported to numbers and size. The day wrapped up at 3:30 pm and when the boats headed in we had recorded 31 fish for 58.41LBS. Another great day on the water.
Team 13 Derek Boeger and Ron Demus weighed in another monster bag of 5 fish for 18.91 LBS with a giant 11.63 LB walleye. Earning them 200 points towards AOY (Angler of the Year) putting them in 1st in point standing and $500 for 1st place and $140 for BIG FISH. Team 13 Sam Hatcher and John Alexander also brought in a great bag weighing in 6 fish for 10.18 LBS earning them 199 points putting them in 2nd place for points and $275. Team 15 John Bakus and John Hennebary weighed in 5 fish for 5.06 LBs and earning 198 in points and $110 for 3rd Place.
The points earned today created an interesting situation for the final tournament. On November 8th as the boats head out they will have more than catching fish on their minds...There is the Angler of the Year Award and Canada Trip on the line and it is a tight race.
