Late Fall can be a great time to go fishing.
Todd Schumacher of Sioux City, Iowa landed a 42 inch Muskie in early October. His fishin' buddy Seth Grasz of Omaha, landed a 36 inch Muskie the same week. Todd also boated a 40 inch Pike. All of these big fish were released alive to one day be landed again. You can see pictures of them in our Photo Gallery. Click on 2009 Wall of Fame, then click on Page 7. When you click on an individual picture, it will show you the date the fish was caught.
Sweet September was our summer. After an unseasonably cool July and August, September delivered four weeks of 70-80 degree temps with a nice southern breeze. But as the unpredictable month of October approached, temperatures dropped and the fishing heated up. This should surprise no one.
Late Fall also produced 12 to 14 inch Crappies, 18 to 19 inch Largemouth Bass, 9 to 10 inch Bluegills and numerous nice Walleyes ranging from 14 to 22 inches.
Our location is special. Anglers enjoy easy boating access from our docks to nine different quality fishing lakes. We enjoy hearing new guests ask... "THAT'S the MISSISSIPPI?" These are the scenic and clear Headwaters of the Mississippi River. We are upstream from flooding and pollution. The water is calm and inviting. The fish like it too!
Many of you know that Big and Beautiful Cabin #11 is open year round for groups up to 19 people. Our other ten "summer cabins" will be open in 2010 from May 15th until October 2nd. All eleven cabins are expected to fill most weeks as they did in 2009. So the time is now, for you to call and get your reservation dates "penciled in."
We offer you good fishing at a clean, quiet and secluded resort.
We like it here. We think you will too.
