We had a pretty good day on the 12th. It snowed most of the day. I had one hit a bulldawg right away and caught that one. That was a mid thirty inch fish. We had one chase around the sucker for a second right after that. That waas a nice fish. Looked to be upper forty inches. We had another grab a big sucker but we didn't get that one. We had a fish close to fifty inches follow and another that looked pretty big but we didn't get a good enough look at it. Had some trouble getting the big ones to commit but cool to see them anyway. Also caught a three foot pike.
Yesterday we started out flinging muskie baits around 10:30 in the morning and switched to some crappie fishing for a few hours midday. For the last hour we went back to muskie fishing. We ended up having one drop a sucker that felt pretty heavy when I picked the rod up and having a mid forty inch fish follow. And we kept about 30 crappie for a fish fry. Most were 10 inches with the biggest being 11 1/2 inches. Not a ton of muskie fishing but we had fun. It was a really nice day to be out doing any kind of fishing yesterday. We came in early to clean the crappies and have a beer.
Water temps are still at 48 degrees. The lake has definitely turned over because the air temp did not get above 34 degrees for three straight days and the water temp stayed at 48 degrees on the main lake areas.
