I had a great time guiding Phil, Dave and Isaac Twohig this past week. We fished 2 days and had action from 7 musky. With 3 over 20 pounds and 2 of the fish at least 25 pounds. Seems like the fish are all heavy so far this fall, only caught 1 runt. Suckers are working again as well as artificials.
I think the fish have finally setteled in to a predictable pattern instead of being scattered around.
The water temperatures are 41 to 46 degrees and the weather is supposed to be in the 40's all week. This should perpetuate the bite. No extreme cold is predicted.
Our "Wallhanger" fall musky school is to be held November 6 - 10, 2009 and should be a good bite for the guys. Looking forward to it. This year Mark Rottier will be helping me with the trip. Mark a guide in Iron River MI, and is a great musky stick. He has boated a 49 and 50.25 incher here already this fall.
Anyone wanting to join us at Wallhanger, call Guides Choice Pro Shop and we'll get you hooked up.
Time to hit the water, I'll let you know how it comes out.
