I give my pledge as an American,
to save and faithfully defend from waste the
natural resources of this planet
I promise to educate future generations,
so we all may become caretakers,
of it's air, soils, and minerals;
it's parks, forests, wilderness areas, and wildlife.
Here are some websites of some clubs that fit this pledge better than a musky club:
http://www.sierraclub.org
http://www.panda.org
While I am all for the ideals put forth in this pledge, I do not want to stand and say this pledge before each meeting. I wish that our club would focus on musky and get to business rather than reciting this nice, but out of place pledge.
Making a room full of grown adults recite a pledge before starting a meeting seems to me odd. Especially if said pledge misses the mark- it does not mention the midwest or muskies ONCE!
How about instead of awkwardly reciting a pledge about saving the environment, we don't?
