Hello,
Had a nice size musky underneath my sucker almost all day yesterday...
At one point the musky was so close to the sucker, amazing, wouldn't eat it...
What would get that fish to strike?? Good luck fishing, Jeff

Jeff,
Sometimes nothing will work to get them to strike, they are just that way....just like lures, they will follow suckers around and even follow trolling baits for long distances.
I don't know how deep you were running your sucker, or how close to the boat you were running it, but I would have dropped the sucker deeper in the water column or have gotten it away from the boat more. Like I said, I don't know how far down you had it, if it was on a down rod or behind a float, but next time try running them a little deeper.
We had cast out a big float with a sucker about 5-6ft down no weight...Musky would just sit and stare at the sucker, come up so close and even nose bump the sucker. It was a good sized one...
Thanks, Mike
