Fished Clearfork on Sunday. Water quality was good. Marina Bay was pretty active, with multiple fish sighted busting shad, with big swirls and shad going airborne. Quite a few times I saw flashes in the water around the boat as musky were feeding. Spent several hours casting the area with no takers. The rest of the day I split the time trolling/casting, with no activity. The weather was OK in the a.m., but early afternoon seemed like a cold front came in, got cloudy and a lot colder with wind. Water temps were consistently 50' - 51'. Later in the day, had at least 100 gulls actively feeding in the middle of the lake. I guess it was more shad on the surface.
Any advice on what I could have tried differently with shad that thick? With fish around the boat feeding, it was a little frustrating not getting any action.
Thanks!
