Friday the 13th. in the Upper Bay Wind was howling at 10pm when we finally hit the water. We got blown around till 1 pm, ran the boards up in weeds, and basically got all the mishaps out of our system. No fish, but the wind laid down and we were at least fishing effectively by 2pm. Gave up empty handed about 4 am.
Saturday we started South of Gladstone. Worked sharp breaks. First fish was 27", CPR. on three color and a blue smithwick. Next fish 24" came on a bare naked reef runner. That night we had 5 keepers 2 that were right over the slot at 23". We released a pig that was 29.5". Fish came in 24-28' on either the leadcore with a bomber or smithwick or Mono 60 back on a board. Bare naked, Purple prism, and blue/white bomber's were productive. Most fish came when the wind picked up around midnight.
Sunday we had four keepers and lost two pigs. But the dead calm made things tough. 4 of the 6 hits came on a leadcore with blue/white bombers.
Hope this helps someone. We hope to be back soon.
