A group of us are coming up to Leech this weekend and wondered if anyone has any reports on the fishing this past week. This is also the first time any of us have fished Leech Lake so we are looking for any information on public access to the lake or wondering if any of the resorts let you gain access by paying a fee. Any info would be much appreciated.

I am not in the area this week but from reports I had heard the fishing has been good on some days and the cold weather has shut the fishing down. Some catches in the Sand Point area, walleyes and perch. Panfish in the marina area around Shingobee Island. Most use the public access at Erickson Landing or Walker Bay park. I would suggest checking with Shrivers Bait in downtown Walker for the best current report.

was on pine last week and walleye were on for the 45 minutes of sundown. then shut down. Perch were inconsistent. People are out on snake pits, not sure how they did.
is the slush and water frozen on walker bay now?
