Not a big ice fisherman, to damn cold for me. But get out once in a while. Was wondering if its worth setting tip ups in the esky harbor. Ive seen several shacks out there last year. I would just like to actually get something on a tip up.

Pike, walleye, boot or log. Anything to make the darn flag go up.

Cant wait til spring.

Mostly pike and perch in there. Lots of hammer handles, with a fair number of fish between 24 and 28 inches. A few fish over 40 inches come out of there every winter. 3 to 4 inch shiners, golden shiners, and suckers will all work down there.

Are you talking (literally) right "in" the harbor itself--like off the island there somewhere?

Yep, right in the harbor. You can catch pike just about anywhere, but the area in the middle where the sail boats would be moored is usually the best.
