With dropping water levels (finally) and a severe cold snap coming up, I bet we see some ice soon. Does anyone have any 'hard water' on the river yet??

There is a "backwater" just downstream of the Deer Creek mouth on the Allegheny in Harmar that I heard guys were icefishing and a friend who works at the Hienz Lofts (Allegheny river in Pittsburgh) was telling me about slackwater spots collecting ice along with iceflow.

I guess the best way to look at it is the water levels are lower so a warm snap and some higher outflows would blow it out easy enough.

With temps dropping into the negative digits saturday night into sunday the lower portions of the river iced up pretty heavy over night especially in the slower areas.
