hey guys, been reading for a while now, decided to post. haven't been to LBDN for quite a few years and 3 of us look like were heading up end of feb. I have normally been running 8lb on my rods, but I know LBDN isn't "normal" as the slower eye lakes I fish here. Is 8lb going to be sufficient? as well as for a leader on my tip-ups? thanks for any info!

For walleye I run 5-6lb braid and 8lb flouro. leaders up to 6' on my jig rods.On my tips I use 15-20# dacron or braid or whatever I have layin around in that class w/ 14lb leads in flouro or big game mono in 15lb.Ive had good luck w/only bite-offs being ''bigger'' northerns.I could go heavier,but I like to keep it intresting.I just set a new tip up with a pvc coated mainline 20# and 8# vanish 8' lead.I only had it out once w/no luck,but Ill let ya no if its ''the ticket''.
