Is it safe to take snowmobile out to the first break out from the Terrace Motel..And also is safe you think to go straight across over to black bottom area.. Thank you for any info...

There's a pressure crack just offshore that you'll have to cross. It's pretty obvious where to get over it. You can get to the East Bank from there, but you'll want to angle a little to the north to get there. The area out from the Terrace was were the last open water was at a couple weeks ago. If you go out in the daylight, you should be able to see where that boundary line was at, and avoid it.

Sounds like the bite has been a little better out in the basin than on the breakline.

At least there's only a couple feet of water under it. If you did have a problem, the worst that would happen might be some wet feet!
