Lake Mendota has been producing some action on Walleyes off of Gov. Island, Dunns Bar, and Second Point. Northern action continues to be decent, with generally smaller fish from 25-35". Some areas to try are Gov. Island, Maple Bluff, Northshore bay, Spring Harbor, and along the Univ. shoreline. Large shiners are working well. Perch fishermen have been having moderate success in 65' of water north of Commodore Bar. Most fish seem to be in the bottom 3' of water, with size varying from 5" to 10". Numbers of fish being caught are varying from few to a limit. There has also been a small group of Perch fishermen east of Picnic Point. Typically, they are fishing in 75' of water. Lake Monona Bluegill anglers continue to fish Monona Bay and the Triangles with spotty success. Squaw Bay has been producing some nice catches of Bluegills lately. Perch fishermen have been struggling to catch decent sized fish, but have been reporting some success out from Law Park. Upper Mud Lake has been producing some decent Bluegill action at times. Lake Waubesa Bluegill fishermen have been having spotty success out from Christies, Goodland Park, and on the south end of the lake. Crappie fishermen have been reporting moderate success fishing deep water off the east shore in several areas. Those same guys have been picking up an occasional Walleye. Fox Lake anglers have been reporting some successful outings for Crappie and Bluegill. We had a customer bring in a Crappie from Fox Lake that was 15 1/2" and weighed over 2 pounds!!!!! Crystal Lake fishermen have been reporting some success on Bluegills from 6 1/2 to 8".
