Lake Mendota Northern Pike and Walleye fishermen continue to have some success in several areas on the lake. Walleye action has been from the weedline out to about 35' of water off of Gov. Island, Dunns Bar, and Picnic Point. Northern Pike have also been in these areas, along with Northshore Bay and the city shoreline. Perch fishermen are having moderate success in 65-70' of water between Commodore Bar and Fox Bluff. A few Perch have also been reported off of Dunns Bar. Lake Monona Perch fishermen have been struggling with moderate success out from Law Park, BB Clarke Beach, and Wyldehaven. Bluegills continue to be somewhat active in Monona Bay and the Triangles. There also been some success reported in Squaw Bay. Typically this time of the year, the Bluegill bite starts to pick up in front of Olin Park. Mud Lake continues to produce some Bluegills. Lake Waubesa Bluegill bite has been spotty, with some recent action reported on the south end of the lake. Crystal Lake Bluegill action has been fair, with fish in the 6 1/2 - 8" range. Beaver Dam Lake has been giving up some big Perch and nice Crappies lately. Fox Lake continues to receive alot of pressure, with some action on Bluegills and Crappies.
