Ice travel and conditions are really the best we've seen all winter. No slush and a solid 15" to 17" of ice cover most lakes in the area. Yes, there might be lakes with more or less, but this is what I am finding.

The walleye bite has been very conistant, however feeding windows are short and intense. I am targeting mostly deep rock bars and experiencing the bite to be 45 minutes prior to dark and a little after. There has been somewhat of a weed edge bite on the deeper lakes.

Sucker minnows set on tip-ups, along with Odd-ball jigs tipped with minnows, and Puppet Minnow type lures are getting the attention of most walleyes.

Pike are active on the sunny days, with some real nice fish up to 36" coming thru the hole lately. Large goldens suspended in the water column 3 to 6 feet off of bottom is working for me.

As we get closer to the end of season, the panfish bite will pick up. Catches of bluegills, crappies, and perch are tough to stay on top of right now.

Good Luck!
