I resent that, and I seem to remember a certain 4-stroke Honda that used about $2,000 worth of gas in like 12 straight days on the water one year. I think you continually bring Optis back up because you know that deep down there is still a warm place in your heart that wishes you still owned one.

No, it was a big silver 4-stroke, supposedly efficient, Honda on a big silver boat. The specific case just came to mind. The real test would be to track all the various motor's average gas consumption for a week and then see who the guzzlers really are at the end of the season. I'm willing to be that the Opti's would stand up plenty well in that comparison. I will surrender the to the loudness debate, everything else is still in question in a motor by motor basis.

Actually Optis are one of the best. The Merc EFI keep the Arabs living in style.

Oh Yeah, and the Optis help keep the mechanics in business too! and the tow guys, and the on the water mechanics, and the guides that take out clients when their motors don't work, and the therapists, and ................................your right, my Opti used a lot less gas than the other motors...........as it sat quietly at the dock or on the trailer.
