Well I am 8 days into our early season fishing and the numbers for me lodge guest and guides are very high, however the bigger fish have been few and far between. Water temps are ranging from 44 to 49 degrees, some 50 degree water was found over the weekend. We landed 27 fish out of the lodge over the weekend and today the lodge landed 14 muskies up to 36 inches. Biggest in my boat was a fat 43 incher but 2 others over 45have been taken. Water is murky but fairly good most spots, mid section of the river and beaver creek are mud, levels are about 5 feet below summer. Bright sunshine hit us today for the first time and should be here the rest of the week and warmer temps are in the forecast. 90% of the fish have been taken on rattlebaits followed by glides like the Sledge and Hellhound. My new Fat belly rattler has taken a few fish this week. Hope all of you make it ti the party this weekend, Jambalaya is on the menu.
