Elk River Rods/Northwoods Tackle

I spent some time up north this weekend with my wife at the Northwoods Sports Show at Lake of the Torches Casino in Lac du Flambeau. I had the opportunity to talk to some great people and guides about fishing in the northwoods. One of the most impressive booths was run by Marc Morrone of Elk River custom rods. His handcrafted rods are absolutely awesome. The guides are indestructible and the action of the rods seems second to none. The other thing I was impressed with was the overall light weight of the rod. It definitely would make casting an entire day easier on your body. Brian Tremel was also at the booth with Marc. Brian is a guide in the Phillips area and owner of Northwoods Tackle Company. His skirt chaser bucktails look awesome and really have been his "go-to" lure.
