I was out on the river below Nekoosa on Friday. Very windy since Wednesday and sill continues today. All the ice is now off the lake and temperatures are starting to rebound. The river bite was really slow. We only had 7 "shorties" and 8 nice white bass. I never talked to anyone who had a keeper walleye. The river water temperature was 53-54 degrees. The DNR has fyke nets out all over the river doing a census survey, I will see if I can obtain the results as soon as it's available.
Keep trying, and keep a tight line!!!
