First Musky of 2010

Jesse and I beat up the river for 2 days under some tough conditions. He had a fish miss his bait at boatside yesterday and it was the only one we saw. Just as I asked him if he was ready to leave a spot this morning and as I was waiting for him to finish his last cast, this fish smoked him right at the boat. Luckily for the both of us, he continued to pay attention and finish his retrieve with a fig-8 when the fish came from out-of-sight.

You just never know.

Red, what were you guys using, and how were you working them?

Jesse was ripping and pausing a Curly Sue and I stuck with a soft-tailed Phantom for most of the weekend. Fish just were not moving and we did not even see a pike the entire time which is very abnormal for this time of year.
