Spring Turkey

The turkey population in our area appears to be excellent! While registering my bird (19#, 10" beard) at Gander, I was talking with Tom Keenan and Justin Gaiche who echoed that sentiment. Justin has registered a very large number of birds since the season opened Wednesday, and Tom and his family have not only seen dozens of birds, but his family members have already filled their tags. I was fortunate enough to be able to hunt with a master turkey hunter, my father-in-law - as a result, my season didn't last very long; we were surrounded by birds from the get-go. The remainder of the season should be quite good and the future quite bright!
