Hi, I would like to bring the family up to view the walleye at the LOTF dam. Just wondering if its too early or if we missed them. Thanks.

Stopped at Lake of the Falls last night at about 10:00 PM and saw about 20 walleyes, nothing big. Saw about the same thing last Saturday (4/10/10). I think the spawn may have happened midweek and fast.

Thanks for getting back to me Scott. Maybe better luck next year.

I heard from Tom502 back on the 9th, and he told me then that most of the walleyes had finished spawning.

I spoke to someone who fished in a tournament in Tomahawk this past weekend. Water temp was 52-55 degrees (surface). The female Walleyes that were caught still had eggs and the males were not milking yet....what a weird year!

Fishing tournament? With the gamefish season in Wisconsin closed until next Saturday (May 1st), what kind of fishing tournament was it? What was the target species, and why were they catching walleyes?

Something sounds fishy, no pun intended.

The tournament was on the WI river in Tomahawk. Walleye was the target species. Check the regs.

I happen to know the regs....I know them as well as you....all you had to do in your initial post was mention the WI river....which you didn't

If you are fishing walleyes In north central WI prior to the opener it's pretty much the WI river system. If you're not from around these parts I could see how you might get confused. My bad.
