Fished Sunday, Monday, Tuesday: 18-20 April

Two of us caught 4 Sunday, zero Monday and 3 Tuesday of over 15 inch walleye.

Only 3 short walleye less than 15 inches, one smallmouth and one white bass.

We fished shallow on the bluffs north and south to Carpenter's and rip rap in town on jigs and Gulp.

The weather was not to bad, with lite to fishable winds.

I was expecting better fishing. For most of the others we talked to, fishing was tough for them too.

We had 4 boats out Friday, and 5 boats out Sat. They all limitted, and said it was a very good bite. Some fished on Sharpe, one at Keiners, and one fished the Rip Rap and Burning Brule.

We did have boats staying at the Hillside that done very good and very poor. 1/2 of the boats staying at the Hillside did very good over the weekend.

One thing about the spring bite, is that it is very touchy, and the best bite is early moring and late in the day, and at night.

Thanks for your post

Fished Wednesday with 4 walleye over 15 inches.

Stayed mostly deeper today. When measuring deep fish, no milking males.

Walleye caught shallow on bluffs or rocks, all milking.

Still tough fishing, not up to normal Chamberlain standards from prior years.

Hopefully things will pick up with the warmer weather.

Rain and higher winds forecast. We are checking out until next year.
