Yesterday was the general fishing opener here in northern Wisconsin. My brother came up to fish with me as always. We had some good fishing but really windy weather to contend with all day. On the first lake slip bobbers with fatheads seemed to be the best method, as the wind was making boat control tough for jigging. We caught fish in 6 to 9 feet of water near the bottom. Walleye, northern pike and largemouth bass kept the bobbers pretty busy.
After lunch we fished another lake were we could get out of the wind a little better. This time we were able to do some jigging and found walleye, smallmoth bass and perch biting along wooded shorelines in 6 to 10 feet. All in all we had a good time, caught some nice fish and enjoyed the outdoors. I kept one 15 inch walleye for the frying pan otherwise we released all the other fish.
Good luck and good fishing,
