Fished a 300 acre lake in iron county Saturday and Sunday and had the best opening weekend in a long time. Started out of Saturday using 1/4 ounce jigs with minnows drifting down the shore. After that resulted in nothing moved to deeper water to drift fish and picked up 8 eyes, 4 crappies, and an 18 inch largemouth. Sunday used the same approach except used 1/2 ounce jigs and caught 9 eyes and 5 crappies. Surface water temps both days hit a high of 58.
