We need to fix the problems before we replenish the population.

What has been done to eradicate the predatory birds? What is being done to combat the illegal fishing? 15 months have gone by and nothing has been done on this. But they are working on it I'm sure!

I'm new to this forum and just got back into fishing after years of a layoff from it. What are the enviromental issues they are talking about? global warming, low water levels, oil leaks. Anyone with an answer please speak up.

TV 6 has a story on "What has happened to the Walleye fishery in Bays De Noc." If something isn't done to control and/or eliminate the predator problem in the bays AND THE ILLEGAL NETTING ....then WE are waisting both money and time people are talking about to "restore the fishery in the bays". When are people going to wake up and realize why the fishing has gone down the tubes!!. We just witnessed a great example of the raping of the bay by a group that had been netting illegally for several years. GET CAUGHT AND NOTHING IS DONE TO PUNISH OR DETER anyone from doing it in the future.

And oh yeah, according to TV 6 "the tribe from the Chip In Casino" will donate $10,000 toward the effort to "restore the bay". So fishermen, hurry on down and gamble so they can come up with the money!!!!!!!!!!

I find it funny to be reading these posts that something should be done - but the ones who write them always want the other guy to do it! Get off your ass, away from the TV, and volunteer to help! There is a lot going on in our area to help improve the fishery, but very few people working to make these changes.
The Bay de Noc GLSF has board meetings every 2/nd Tuesday of the month and is open to all members!
