I spent my first every opening day on LBDN and I wasn't disappointed! We ended up keeping our two man limit. (we released 4 others that were to small and kept two perch, both about a foot and had numerous other misses) All the keepers ranged from 15 to 22. We launched a 6 this morning at Rapid River, it was a bit foggy but I kept the motor trimmed up and didn't have any issues getting out. We started trolling in 10' but didn't mark many fish until we got into 25'-30' of water and then we had pretty steady action for the next few hours. All we trolled were harnesses with 1 oz bottom bouncers 60' behind the boards. The best colors were blue and orange. The key was keeping our speed between 1.0 and 1.1. No hits at all when we were going slower or faster. I got the new iPilot for my trolling motor this spring at it performed awesome. The advanced auto pilot and cruise control were especially useful today. I hope to make a few more times this spring!
