I didn't do any walleye fishing over the weekend but we did catch a dandy while pike fishing. Rachel caught a 26 1/2 incher that went 7.9 pounds. It was huge. Don't worry we released it. We were in the Musky Tale Resort pike tourney and they have a biggest walleye category so we brought it in to weigh it before releasing it. The pike fishing on the other hand was tough for us. We just couldn't seem to get any big fish to hit. There were some big ones caught though. I think the biggest was 38 inches. Overall this was the worst year for numbers that Musky Tale has had in the tourney for fifteen years.
I forgot, we did go out Thursday and caught a limit of walleye between the three of us. All of them were around 17 inches. Perfect eating size. The walleye fishing should really get going this week. I'll be out tonight and the next few days. I'll report what happens.
