Alternated fishing stumps on the flowage and a morning river trip. The smallies were right up to shore bedding, caught a lot of nice 17 - 19" fish, probaby missed half of the hits as they weren't "feeding" bites. All on 4 and 5" twisters. No muskies sighted...... the water is of course very low, perhaps they are holding back in deeper pools. On the flowage I stuck to stumps and wood piles, the coontail didn't produce for me like before. I didn't find walleyes but did get into some nice perch, and the gills had started. I saw several muskies basically sunning themselves, they swam away from every presentation I tried. Water temp in the low 70s, the water level seemed even lower than 2 weeks ago.
