Crappie are moving back onto the cribs in deeper water and the Gills are still going strong shallow. Smallmouth are going nuts on tubes fished around any type of shoreline cover. The Walleye are slow with most of the fish being caught the first and last hour of light in 8 to 15 fow on light jig and minnow combos. The Pike fishing has been hot and heavy with fish being caught on twitch baits and spinner baits in the weeds. Musky was off to a slow start with only a few fish being reported at the store. Most of the fish came on bucktails or glide baits and were caught on bright colors. Musky seem to be scattered now with some fish being shallow and some comming from their deeper summer haunts. Water temps are high from 76 to 80 deg so everything is going into their summer patterns fast.

The WMT visits Price county Saturday on the Phillips Chain and Sunday on Butternut Lake. So be aware that the landings on the lakes will be very busy from 4:30 am to just before 6am and then again around 4pm. Also it would be good to stay clear of the bridges, narrows and the Harbor View area of the Chain from 6 to 6:30 while the ease-out is happening. It gets a little crazy and most of the boats are pretty big.
