The past two days has seen some very good fishing action, it's just that for the most part, walleyes were not part of the active fish we caught. On Saturday, my clients and I spent most of the day fishing for panfish, working various shallow bays with scattered timber and weeds, we boated many perch and bluegills along with some smallies and a few small pike. We tried for walleye for a couple of hours in the afternoon but all we found were numerous pike and a couple of big perch, all in all, we kept 31 panfish for our efforts. On Sunday, my clients and I spent the day in all types of cover and depths looking for walleye, and for the most part, pike and smallies were the only active fish we could find except for 2 nice eyes and a few decent panfish that hit our Reeves jigs and crawler. We must have boated at least 30pike and a dozen or so nice smallies, mostly all the fish came from the shallow wood and coontail.
Back out today, will keep you posted.
